About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Program, troubleshoot and optimise PLC and automation systems
Work closely with production and maintenance to improve operational reliability
Develop preventive and corrective maintenance routines
Perform and lead root cause analyses
Identify and drive technical improvements and modernisation initiatives
Define technical requirements and support investment planning
Commission new equipment, including testing, troubleshooting and verification
Develop technical documentation, structure and working methods within automation
Contribute automation expertise to Essentia's international development, including a potential production facility outside Madrid

Requirements

What you’ll need

Experience within automation in process industry or another production environment
Solid experience in PLC programming and industrial automation
Experience with Siemens and TIA Portal, or comparable automation platforms
Troubleshooting and problem-solving experience in a production environment
Experience with SCADA/HMI systems
Experience with industrial communication and networks
Experience with iFix, Profinet, OPC UA, AS-i or Sattcon is an advantage
University or vocational degree within automation, electrical engineering or a related technical field, or relevant practical experience
Comfortable communicating in English
Curious, independent, solution-oriented, collaborative and down-to-earth working style
Structured approach and ability to identify longer-term system, process and working-method improvements
