About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

You develop robust backend solutions using Java and Spring Boot and ensure systems remain scalable and performant.
You design event-streaming architectures with Apache Kafka and integrate data streams from various sources.
You transform data-science models and prototypes into robust, production-ready software solutions.
You bring applications into production in Kubernetes environments and ensure smooth deployments.
You use Helm charts efficiently.
You actively contribute to building and advancing the software development team.
You perform code reviews, coach team members, and enforce development quality standards.
You collaborate closely with solution architects and provide practical feedback on architectural decisions.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Minimum 3 years of experience in software development with a focus on Java and Spring Boot
Solid knowledge of microservices architectures and cloud-adjacent technologies
Practical experience with Kubernetes and Linux-based environments
Understanding of event streaming (Apache Kafka) and data integration
Basic frontend knowledge, ideally with Angular or React
Experience working with agile methods (Scrum, Domain-Driven Design)
Very good German and English skills, both spoken and written
Nice to have (not required): experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools; additional programming languages such as Go or Python; knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., GCP, AWS, or Azure); experience coaching or mentoring developers; interest in digitization and automation in the logistics sector
