About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the Huntsville integration engineering team to deliver reliable, field-ready systems for UAS and other platforms.
  • This role combines team leadership and hands-on engineering across hardware, software and systems.
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Principal Engineers, Technical Leads, and teams in Sydney to integrate and deploy systems on target platforms.
  • Plan and execute integration activities and field trials, including equipment preparation, test execution, and data capture.
  • Plan and document integration builds, test configurations, results, and anomalies to support traceability and repeatability.
  • Establish and improve integration and deployment practices, processes, tools, and testing approaches to support repeatable and efficient execution.
  • Lead the team to ensure equipment, consumables, and laboratory environments are maintained to support safe and effective operations.
  • Liaise with suppliers and support procurement activities for prototype builds.
  • Lead, mentor and support engineers, contributing to a high-performing and accountable team.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field of engineering
  • Proven experience leading systems engineering, integration, and validation of complex hardware/software systems, ideally within aerospace, defense, or advanced sensing domains
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills and experience working with a variety of stakeholders including technical, commercial, and operational staff including external partners and customers
  • Experience leading field trials and flight testing autonomously
  • Knowledge of aerospace quality systems, certification and qualification processes
  • Knowledge of documentation and configuration management practices, and experience using collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence
