About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Analyze and validate clients' compliance with tax laws and regulations
- Prepare and review US Individual tax returns, including Form 1040 and related foreign filings
- Apply US Foreign Trust filing requirements and cross-border tax implications
- Lead client meetings to discuss tax positions and open items
- Develop and maintain client relationships
- Collaborate with team members to share tax technical knowledge and insights
- Monitor and analyze financial data to inform tax strategies and recommendations
- Keep up to date with IRS technical and legislative changes
- Facilitate training sessions on tax technology and tools
- Manage project timelines and deliverables during peak periods
- Mentor and guide junior team members
- Communicate engagement progress and outcomes to clients
Requirements
What you’ll need- At least a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Master's in Commerce
- At least 3 to 6 years of experience
- At least 2 years of review experience
- Oral and written proficiency in English required
- Advanced understanding of US Individual tax returns, including Form 1040
- Intermediate understanding of US Foreign Trust filing requirements, including Form 3520
- Understanding of foreign filings including Forms 8865, 5471, 8621, and 926
- Experience preparing tax returns and workpapers using PDF and Excel
- Ability to validate data and analyze accuracy and relevance
- Ability to produce high-quality work adhering to professional standards
- Ability to identify problems and information needed to finalize tax returns timely
- Ability to lead kick-off and status calls and communicate open items to clients
- Ability to learn new tax technology
- Ability to understand cross-border tax implications across multiple countries
- Ability to understand and decipher tax treaties
- Understanding of US nonresident taxation and applicable treaty rates
- Advanced MS/Google/Adobe enterprise solutions knowledge
