About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the trusted advisor and primary liaison to clients and brokers
- Initiate and cultivate successful partnerships between Purchasing Power and key client accounts and brokers
- Manage internal activities for a growing book of accounts within designated broker and client territories
- Drive growth and increased profitability of existing business
- Assist with acquisition of new business
- Provide strategic direction for assigned accounts and broker partnerships
- Meet target revenue and revenue-per-eligible rates for assigned accounts
- Represent Purchasing Power at executive level with clients and brokers
- Educate brokers, clients, and consumers on the value proposition
- Guide broker and client partners on training programs
- Expand and cultivate accounts and broker regions through visits, communication, and reporting
- Develop marketing opportunities to maximize program effectiveness
- Ensure account contract terms are followed and account needs are addressed
- Provide insight to cross-functional internal departments
- Identify new business opportunities from industry and voluntary-benefit trends
- Identify and report potential client and broker risks
- Partner with brokers on upsell opportunities
- Optimize client and broker experience across sales, client services, marketing, and customer experience
- Serve as account owner and decision maker for relationship issues and escalations
- Develop strategic recommendations for improving and expanding relationships
- Document new client processes, policies, and procedures and oversee applicable staff training
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Business or related field or equivalent relevant experience
- 5+ years of account management experience
- Experience managing employee benefit offerings or programs
- Financial acumen, analytical, and operations skills
- Experience using Microsoft Office products, including PivotTables and PowerPoint
- Experience using CRM tools, including Salesforce
- Ability to travel as needed for client stewardships, benefit fairs, clients, brokers, and events
- Proven annual goal attainment
- Superior written and oral communication skills
- Excellent presentation skills
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Ability to maintain high-quality work in a deadline-driven environment
- Curiosity, adaptability, and openness to learning as AI-enabled tools and workflows evolve
- Ability to build relationships and network internally and externally
- Ability to work in-office 3 days a week
- Ability to travel 35% of the time
