About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own the technical strategy and roadmap for Pura's end-to-end supply chain platform
Set the technical direction and define the architecture
Be accountable for the health and evolution of the systems within your domain
Partner closely with business stakeholders and executive leadership
Translate business needs into sound technical decisions
Work closely with a small, high-impact engineering team raising the technical bar through design leadership, hands-on code, and mentorship

Requirements

What you’ll need

10+ years in backend engineering with a demonstrated track record of technical leadership across teams or domains
Expert-level proficiency in Golang and/or other modern backend languages (Node, Python, etc.)
Deep expertise designing and operating high-scale distributed systems; proven ability to solve complex, ambiguous problems
Strong command of service-oriented architecture, API strategy, and event-driven architectures at scale
Expert-level AWS (or comparable cloud) knowledge, including containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), CI/CD, and infrastructure as code
Deep expertise in relational database design and optimization (PostgreSQL preferred), caching (Redis, etc.), and data modeling for scale
Proven track record establishing observability, monitoring, and operational excellence standards across engineering teams
Exceptional communication skills; able to translate complex technical tradeoffs into clear recommendations for business and executive audiences
Experience mentoring senior engineers and operating as a technical force multiplier.
