About the role
- Develops quantitative and qualitative analytical and research methods to support long-term energy resource planning and financial proformas for resource acquisitions.
- Leads efforts to build interdepartmental consensus on analytical approaches and input assumptions shaping long-term resource strategy.
- Coordinates research to identify long-term energy market trends and policy issues impacting strategy.
- Develops and communicates analytical methods, assumptions, and results with external stakeholders to support cost recovery for resource acquisitions.
- Uses long-term resource models (Aurora, Power World, Sendout, PSM), spreadsheets, and database applications to perform analysis.
- Plans and directs development of input databases and performs long-term resource planning analysis.
- Serves as strategic lead on special projects, technical analysis, and complex matters; communicates implications to senior management.
- Monitors energy load and supply trends locally, statewide, regionally, and nationally; trains and mentors staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, engineering, finance, math, or related field.
- 10 years of experience in energy related industry involving performance of complex analysis.
- Experience building complex spreadsheets to analyze questions.
- Demonstrated ability to be supportive team member.
- Demonstrated experience and ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop and cultivate strong working relationships with contractual counterparties, regulators and other industry participants.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Solid written, interpersonal, and group communication skills.
