About the role
- Assist senior staff in the development and running of econometric and statistical forecasting models and analytical frameworks
- Assist with development and maintenance of input and output databases necessary to perform long-term load forecasting analyses
- Extract data from various internal and external systems
- Develop code to conduct exploratory analysis, cleanse/massage, or aggregate data, and to automate work processes at the direction of senior staff
- Create data visualizations to derive meaningful insights
- Regularly run reports of forecast versus actuals and to track other intelligence
- Support development of written documents and presentations to help effectively communicate results of research and analyses
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Finance, Math, or related field
- Ability to perform complex mathematical analysis
- Solid written, interpersonal, and group communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to be a supportive team member
- Master’s/PhD degree in economics, statistics, mathematics, data science or similar fields (desired)
- Experience in economic or energy-related forecasting, data science, energy efficiency evaluation or related field (desired)
- Knowledge of forecasting and econometric theory and applications (desired)
- Experience with statistical analyses and econometric modeling (desired)
- Experience with databases and using database applications to support research and analytics (desired)
- Knowledge of energy forecasting tools such as Itron MetrixND/LT and Forecast Manager, LoadSEER, and EViews (desired)
- Experience with SAS, SQL, R, Python or other data analytic programming tools (desired)
- Experience with data visualization and dashboard reporting software such as Tableau or Power BI (desired)
- Experience with SAP BW, SAP HANA, PI (desired)
- Superior Excel spreadsheet skills including development of charts, and familiarity with the other Microsoft applications such as Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, and SharePoint (desired)
