About the role
- Puget Sound Energy's Electric Distribution System Operations is looking for a Senior Engineer to join our team. The System Operations team is responsible for the real-time monitoring and control of PSE's electric distribution system. Support real-time operations by solving complex emergent and planned issues on the distribution system and be part of project teams for grid-management technology in the control center. Uphold safety compliance standards and promote a culture of total safety. Provide occasional non-core hour operational engineering support for emergent issues like storm work or large-scale outages. Support engineering functions for the Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) and Grid Modernization Projects including testing, commissioning, and load flow analysis. Support operationalizing the Virtual Power Plant (VPP) including scoping, integration, testing, commissioning, and scheduling Demand Side resources via the VPP.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree or PE license in electrical, mechanical, civil or other appropriate engineering field. Substantial experience in planning, design, specification preparation, technical field work, project cost estimating and scheduling (typically achieved after 8 or more years practice as a degreed engineer). Demonstrated organization, documentation, prioritization, and project management skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Desired: 5-10 years of utility engineering experience. Desired: Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering. Desired: Possession of or ability to acquire a Professional Engineering license. Desired: Strong experience in Schneider ADMS software platform. Desired: Familiarity with codes and equipment utilized in the design and operation of utilities. Desired: Experience working with both internal and external customers on projects. Desired: Experience working on complex engineering projects.
