About the role

  • Senior HR Advisor role supporting Puget Sound Energy’s Human Capital Services team focused on energy efficiency and clean energy transformation
  • Pivot and execute unique and strategic initiatives to retain top talent and support labor activities
  • Ensure consistent employee experience and provide mentoring and guidance to HR peers
  • Conduct complex investigations, present findings, and make recommendations to resolve complaints
  • Lead grievance efforts, coordinate labor contract arbitrations, administration of discipline, and labor/management meetings
  • Engage in legal requests for information and ensure regulatory compliance with employment laws
  • Facilitate workforce change and implement HR programs across recruiting, compensation, training, and performance management
  • Build tools/resources and deliver HR/management training programs to increase consistent application of policies and contracts
  • Review and respond to unemployment claims and perform other duties as assigned
  • Promote and uphold safety compliance standards and PSE core values and Code of Conduct

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and 3 years related experience in labor/employee relations, performance management, compensation, and training and development, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong demonstration of high ethics and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Solid understanding of local, state, and federal employment law
  • Ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex, difficult, and emotional issues
  • Proven customer relations skills including problem solving and conflict resolution
  • Excellent communications skills (oral, written, listening)
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Group presentation and facilitation skills
  • Ability to coach, mentor and influence others
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work
  • Proficient in Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Desired: Advanced degree (M.A.) or graduate work in HR-related field and/or PHR or SPHR certification
  • Desired: Five (5) years hands-on experience resolving labor contract disputes and grievances
  • Desired: Five (5) years related HR experience including employee relations, performance management, compensation, and training and development
  • Desired: Organizational development and diagnosis skills
  • Desired: Previous managerial experience

  • Desired: Experience using SAP or other HRIS system
