About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and manage the editorial team to deliver timely, accurate, and engaging coverage of the British royal family, celebrity news, and feature stories.
- Identify compelling story opportunities, develop strong editorial angles, and craft high-performing headlines.
- Assign, review, edit, and publish stories while maintaining the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and speed.
- Monitor breaking news, prioritize coverage, and manage newsroom workflows effectively under tight deadlines.
- Analyze content performance and audience insights to refine editorial strategy and maximize readership.
- Ensure all content is thoroughly fact-checked and adheres to editorial guidelines and publishing standards.
- Mentor writers and editors, providing regular feedback to strengthen editorial quality and team performance.
- Collaborate with social media, SEO, and audience teams to optimize content distribution and engagement.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum 4 years of journalism experience, with at least 1 year covering content for U.S. or international digital audiences.
- Minimum 2 years of editing experience in a digital newsroom.
- Experience managing or mentoring editorial teams.
- Strong interest in the British royal family, celebrity culture, entertainment, and trending news.
- Excellent command of grammar, storytelling, news structure, and fact-checking best practices.
- Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven newsroom.
