About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using **Python**.
Build and optimize REST APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
Contribute to key engineering initiatives, including:
- **Media Pipeline Migration to Temporal**
- **Communication Platform Migration**
Work with **MySQL**, **Kafka**, and **AWS** to build reliable and fault-tolerant systems.
Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following engineering best practices.
Participate in system design discussions and contribute to architectural decisions.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver high-quality software.
Take end-to-end ownership of features—from design and development to deployment and monitoring.
Continuously improve engineering practices, code quality, and system performance.

Requirements

What you’ll need

2–3 years of hands-on experience in backend development using **Python**.
Strong software engineering fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming.
Experience building and maintaining production-grade backend applications.
Hands-on experience with **MySQL** or other relational databases.
Experience working with **AWS** cloud services.
Experience with **Kafka** or other messaging/event-streaming platforms.
Good understanding of REST APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
Familiarity with version control (Git) and software development best practices.
Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and ownership mindset.
