About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, build, and deploy canvas and model-driven Power Apps using VA/VHA data
- Architect Dataverse tables, relationships, business rules, calculated/rollup columns, and security roles
- Connect applications to Dataverse, SharePoint, SQL Server/Azure SQL, CDW, and external data sources
- Build accessible Power Apps screens, forms, and views using Power Fx
- Develop reusable components, component libraries, and PCF controls
- Apply Power Platform ALM, governance, deployment pipelines, and source control
- Build and maintain Power Automate cloud flows for data movement, approvals, notifications, and process hand-offs
- Develop desktop flows/RPA for legacy or non-API systems
- Design and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, and semantic models against CDW and VA data sources
- Create data models, DAX measures, calculated columns, and Power Query transformations
- Configure RLS, gateways, refresh schedules, incremental refresh, workspaces, and deployment pipelines
- Design and build ETL/ELT ingestion and transformation pipelines into Dataverse, Azure SQL, and Power BI
- Develop and maintain dataflows, Azure Data Factory, and/or SSIS pipelines
- Design dimensional and normalized data models
- Implement data validation, reconciliation, quality checks, monitoring, and alerting
- Work directly with VA/VHA clinical, operational, financial, and administrative data and CDW
- Enable analysts and engineers to use VA data assets through working solutions and reference material
- Elicit requirements, map business processes, and translate operational needs into app, flow, data model, and report designs
- Facilitate working sessions, demos, and reviews with subject matter experts
- Document solution logic, data dictionaries, source-to-target mappings, data lineage, governance, and compliance
- Contribute reusable patterns, templates, best practices, and continuous-improvement initiatives
- Support Agile or hybrid delivery aligned with iterative, sprint-based work
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field
- 4–6 years building production solutions across Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI
- Hands-on Power Apps development with Dataverse modeling, Power Fx, screen/form design, and data connections
- Hands-on Power Automate development using connectors, expressions, and error handling
- Hands-on Power BI development including data modeling, DAX, Power Query, refresh, and report/dashboard delivery
- Hands-on data engineering experience building ETL/ELT or data pipelines and data models
- Strong understanding of relational databases and proficiency in SQL
- Working knowledge of Dataverse, SharePoint, SQL, and governed data connectivity
- Familiarity with data governance, metadata management, data quality practices, and solution documentation
- Experience with process mapping, as-is/to-be workflows, and requirements elicitation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaborate within cross-functional teams
- Authorized to work in the U.S. indefinitely without sponsorship
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust
- Preferred: Master's degree, advanced Power Platform expertise, ALM at scale, Azure Data Factory, SSIS, Synapse, Azure SQL, relevant certifications, VA/VHA or federal healthcare experience, CDW experience, BPMN/Lean/Six Sigma, data cataloging, and Agile delivery experience
