About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, build, and deploy canvas and model-driven Power Apps using VA/VHA data
- Architect Dataverse as the application data backbone
- Connect applications to Dataverse, SharePoint, SQL Server/Azure SQL, CDW, and external data sources
- Build accessible screens, forms, views, reusable components, component libraries, and PCF controls
- Apply Power Platform ALM, governance, environment strategy, deployment pipelines, source control, security, and DLP policies
- Build and maintain Power Automate cloud flows for data movement, approvals, notifications, and process hand-offs
- Implement desktop flows/RPA for legacy or non-API systems
- Design Power BI reports, dashboards, semantic models, datasets, refresh processes, security, and deployment pipelines
- Design and build ETL/ELT ingestion and transformation pipelines into Dataverse, Azure SQL, and Power BI
- Develop and maintain Power Platform dataflows, Azure Data Factory, and/or SSIS pipelines
- Design dimensional and normalized data models and implement data validation, reconciliation, monitoring, and alerting
- Work directly with VA/VHA clinical, operational, financial, administrative data, and the Corporate Data Warehouse
- Partner with VA/VHA stakeholders to elicit requirements, map processes, and translate needs into applications, flows, models, and reports
- Facilitate working sessions, demos, and reviews with subject matter experts
- Document solution logic, metadata, data dictionaries, mappings, lineage, governance, ownership, and compliance
- Contribute reusable patterns, templates, best practices, delivery tooling, and continuous improvement within Agile or hybrid delivery
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field
- 4–6 years building production solutions with Microsoft Power Platform across Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI
- Power Apps experience with Dataverse modeling, screen/form design, Power Fx, and Dataverse, SharePoint, and SQL data connections
- Power Automate experience with cloud flows, connectors, expressions, and error handling
- Power BI experience with data modeling, DAX, Power Query (M), refresh, and report/dashboard delivery
- Hands-on ETL/ELT, data pipeline, data modeling, and structured/semi-structured data experience
- Strong understanding of relational databases and proficiency in SQL
- Working knowledge of Dataverse, SharePoint, SQL, and governed data connectivity
- Familiarity with data governance, metadata management, data quality, and solution documentation
- Experience with process mapping, as-is/to-be workflows, and requirements elicitation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaborate within cross-functional teams
- Authorized to work in the U.S. indefinitely without sponsorship
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust
- Preferred: Master's degree, advanced Power Platform expertise, ALM at scale, Azure Data Factory/SSIS/Synapse/Azure SQL, relevant certifications, VA/VHA or federal healthcare experience, CDW experience, BPMN or Lean/Six Sigma, data cataloging, and Agile analytics/data modernization experience
