Key responsibilities & impact
  • Leading weekly payroll processing across multiple companies and states.
  • Managing certified payroll and prevailing wage reporting.
  • Administering union payroll, fringe benefit reporting, and remittances.
  • Reviewing payroll audits and resolving discrepancies before payroll is finalized.
  • Supporting payroll compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Serving as the Paylocity subject matter expert.
  • Troubleshooting payroll issues and improving payroll processes.
  • Partnering with HR, Finance, and Operations to ensure payroll accuracy.
  • Mentoring Payroll Specialists and serving as a technical resource.
  • Supporting the Payroll Manager and providing backup leadership when needed.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of multi-state payroll experience
  • Experience processing payroll across multiple legal entities
  • Strong knowledge of certified payroll administration
  • Experience with prevailing wage compliance
  • Experience administering union payroll and fringe benefit reporting
  • Strong payroll auditing and reconciliation skills
  • Experience using Paylocity or a comparable payroll/HRIS platform
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and local payroll regulations
  • Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
  • Preferred CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) or FPC certification
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Human Resources, or related field
  • Experience in construction, industrial services, utilities, or other highly regulated industries
  • Experience with labor compliance reporting and government-funded projects.
