About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Leading weekly payroll processing across multiple companies and states.
Managing certified payroll and prevailing wage reporting.
Administering union payroll, fringe benefit reporting, and remittances.
Reviewing payroll audits and resolving discrepancies before payroll is finalized.
Supporting payroll compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Serving as the Paylocity subject matter expert.
Troubleshooting payroll issues and improving payroll processes.
Partnering with HR, Finance, and Operations to ensure payroll accuracy.
Mentoring Payroll Specialists and serving as a technical resource.
Supporting the Payroll Manager and providing backup leadership when needed.

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of multi-state payroll experience
Experience processing payroll across multiple legal entities
Strong knowledge of certified payroll administration
Experience with prevailing wage compliance
Experience administering union payroll and fringe benefit reporting
Strong payroll auditing and reconciliation skills
Experience using Paylocity or a comparable payroll/HRIS platform
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Strong understanding of federal, state, and local payroll regulations
Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
Preferred CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) or FPC certification
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Human Resources, or related field
Experience in construction, industrial services, utilities, or other highly regulated industries
Experience with labor compliance reporting and government-funded projects.
