About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conduct regular field audits of in-progress and completed work
- Identify non-compliant or unsatisfactory work per customer standards
- Visually inspect proper equipment setup and use on work sites
- Verify compliant pulling, rigging, hoisting, and storage methods
- Input data using company-preferred programs to track safety and compliance
- Identify and evaluate working conditions and make adjustments to ensure employee safety and health
- Facilitate formal safety or quality meetings
- Provide coaching and mentoring to field employees
- Assist with presenting new products and assembly procedures to operations
- Identify training needs by reviewing incidents, near-miss reports, and job briefings
- Comply with PSC safety, operating, and information security policies and report unsafe practices or suspected incidents
- Participate in advisory teams as requested
- Support emergency preparedness and response plans, including storm or outage events
- Research and select safety products, PPE, and tooling
- Complete required company training courses
- Update supervisors when customer specifications change
- Assist with updating and developing the safety handbook and safe work practices
- Travel for conferences, training, and meetings
- Perform other directed duties and activities
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of 20 years’ experience with time served in a leadership role
- Experience in Electric Distribution, Overhead and/or Underground, or directional boring
- OSHA 20 and/or OSHA 30
- Thorough knowledge of industry approved T&D work methods and practices
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to interpret job prints / staking sheets
- Ability to work independently and respond to dynamic field environments
- Ability to set up meeting rooms, audio-visual equipment, and other training aids
- Knowledge of OSHA & NESC
- Ability to create presentations and speak to groups of people
- Knowledge of electrical theory and electrical distribution equipment
- Ability to use basic office equipment (computer, phone, fax, copier, etc.)
- Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office
- Ability to communicate effectively, including email and public speaking settings
- Ability to look up at structures up to 100ft
- Ability to lift a minimum of twenty-five pounds
- Ability to bend or squat as needed
- Must be willing to travel up to 50% of the time with occasional remote work as approved by supervisor
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must reside in service territory or mileage requirement, if applicable
- Must be allowed access to customer / client property
- Wears company issued FR clothing and additional PPE required for the scope of work
