About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the annual IT budgeting process across all IT functions, including OpEx and CapEx budgets
- Facilitate long-range financial planning and multi-year technology investment roadmaps
- Monitor spending against budget, identify variances, and coordinate IT financial close activities
- Develop monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts and perform financial and scenario analysis
- Prepare executive-level financial reporting packages, dashboards, KPIs, scorecards, and technology financial reviews
- Build financial models and provide recommendations to optimize IT expenditures and improve financial performance
- Lead IT procurement operations from approved demand through purchase order, invoice approval, payment, and reconciliation
- Establish purchasing controls, approval requirements, documentation standards, and segregation-of-duties practices
- Manage financial oversight of technology vendors, software licensing agreements, subscriptions, maintenance agreements, and consumption-based services
- Identify cost optimization and vendor consolidation opportunities and track committed versus actual supplier spending
- Manage IT cost allocation, chargeback, and showback models, including allocation and billing across business units and shared services
- Lead, develop, mentor, coach, and support the growth of IT finance and vendor management professionals
- Prioritize team resources across budgeting, forecasting, vendor management, reporting, and investment activities
- Present financial results, forecasts, risks, and recommendations to senior leadership
- Ensure compliance with corporate financial policies, SOX controls, audit requirements, financial governance standards, and documentation
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives and maintain financial data integrity across ERP, PPM, and procurement systems
- Serve as the primary liaison among IT, Finance, Procurement, Legal, PMO, business stakeholders, and executive leadership
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Information Systems, or related field required
- 7-12 years of progressive experience in financial planning, accounting, IT finance, technology portfolio management, or related disciplines
- Experience supporting large enterprise IT organizations preferred
- Experience managing OpEx and CapEx budgets exceeding $50M-$100M+
- Experience supporting IT project portfolios and technology investment planning
- Experience working with Corporate Finance, Procurement, and Executive Leadership
- Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and variance analysis
- Understanding of IT cost structures, including infrastructure, cloud services, software licensing, managed services, telecommunications, cybersecurity, and application development
- Experience with ERP and financial systems such as Viewpoint, Oracle, SAP, or Workday
- Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing professional teams
- Strategic thinking and business acumen
- Executive presence and communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to influence without direct authority
- Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to translate complex financial information into actionable business insights
- MBA, CPA, CMA, or related advanced certification preferred
- Advanced Excel and Power BI skills preferred
