About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform clerical and physical warehouse support tasks for the Navy Medical Readiness Logistic Command’s Expeditionary Medical System mission
- Receive, ship, store, pick, dispose of, pack, kit, stuff, unpack, and inventory general or specialized material and equipment
- Use DMLSS, HIMS, or another authorized database to account for and process TOAs, AMALs, and ADALs
- Perform inventory and documentation of supply stock and adjust stock levels as directed
- Support excess and unserviceable material disposal processes
- Review, stock, and resupply medical logistics items
- Remove and replace outdated or expired items from shelves or kitted EXMEDS
- Perform quality control on transaction records and file documents
- Research quality assurance messages using DMLSS or another military database
- Review documents, obtain missing information, and resolve inconsistencies or discrepancies
- Receive, unload, and process incoming shipments; verify documentation and report overages, shortages, or damage
- Segregate materials by type and generate labels and routing or staging information
- Perform inventory control, material handling, examination, identification, packing, and command inventory analysis
- Operate Material Handling Equipment and perform platform stowing for assigned EXMED platforms
- Perform Pick, Pack, Preserve, and Crate activities for EXMEDS kitting and shipping
- Perform word processing, data entry, spreadsheet and database updates, and electronic document maintenance
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness and assigned areas
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum 5 years of experience in logistics or medical warehouse operations
- Must be able to understand, read, and write in the English language
- Mathematical ability including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Ability to adhere to published standards and guidance in local Standard Operating Procedures, Navy guidelines, and Department of Defense publications
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Computer literacy and ability to look up and enter information using a computer
- Minimal computer skills including Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word
- Ability to learn specialized software related to departmental operations
- Experience operating a forklift, Scan Gun, and other material handling equipment preferred
- Communication skills to provide procedural and factual information and respond to questions
- Customer service skills to respond to customer inquiries and requests and escalate difficult matters appropriately
- Flexibility to adapt to changing work priorities
- Demonstrated organization, problem solving, and common-sense skills
- High School Diploma or GED
- CAT Card Clearance may be required depending on local, state, and/or contract requirements
- Forklift Certification may be required depending on local, state, and/or contract requirements
- Valid Driver's License may be required depending on local, state, and/or contract requirements
- Ability to work a light to moderate physical effort
- Ability to walk, stand, reach, bend, and move items
- Ability to utilize a keyboard and monitor computer systems
- Ability to maneuver to and around equipment
- May require lifting and carrying weight over 45 pounds
- Ability to work on hard surfaces
- Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment
