Medical Group Scheduler

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Schedule and coordinate patient appointments while providing accurate instructions, directions, and appointment details
- Monitor provider schedules, identify scheduling issues, reschedule no-shows, and support timely patient access
- Verify and update patient demographics, insurance information, and referrals in the electronic medical record
- Manage incoming calls, provide information, document messages, and route requests appropriately while maintaining HIPAA standards
- Support referral processes, including entering referrals, coordinating documentation, and assisting patients with referral questions
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient concerns, resolving issues when possible, and documenting feedback
- Apply knowledge of Advanced Access scheduling practices and collaborate with care teams to optimize patient flow
- Maintain accurate records and complete administrative tasks to support providers, patients, and clinic operations
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum nine months of experience in an office, healthcare, or customer service environment required
- Must successfully complete Epic scheduling competency within 90 days of hire
- One or more years of experience in a provider office, call center, or similar healthcare environment preferred
