About the role
- Uses analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills to support, maintain, and optimize the Workday Financials system
- Partner with Finance, Supply Chain, HR, and IT stakeholders to ensure financial processes are efficient, compliant, and aligned with organizational needs
- Provide consulting support to Finance stakeholders on Workday Financials functionality and optimization
- Act as a primary point of contact for system troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolution of Workday Finance issues impacting daily operations (vendor payments, patient refunds, supply chain expenses)
- Configure and support Workday Finance modules including Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Procurement, Grants, Projects, and Expenses
- Advise Finance stakeholders on business process design, risks, and best practice solutions and push teams to streamline processes into Workday
- Support partnership with PHS Analytics by defining/validating business requirements, identifying/translating data dictionaries, and approving/granting access to raw data
- Support Finance Information Systems through Workday update releases by coordinating testing, validating outcomes, and ensuring smooth adoption
- Evaluate and transform data from source systems to create outputs and reporting leveraged downstream
- Contribute to development of Functional Design Documents, Business Requirement Documents, Interface Designs, test scenarios/plans, GUI and Screen Design
- Work closely with Finance management, Subject Matter Experts, and IT Engineers to recommend, justify and prioritize enhancements
- Monitor system and information needs and recommend process or system changes when appropriate
- Collaborate with Finance, Revenue Cycle and Supply Chain teams to streamline workflows for vendor management, patient-care related expenses, and government reimbursements
Requirements
- Bachelors degree required
- Workday Finance certification(s)
- Hands-on experience with Workday Financials configuration (General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Procurement, Grants, Projects, Expenses)
- Experience with healthcare ERP/EHR integrations (e.g., Workday with Epic)
- Familiarity with CMS reporting requirements and nonprofit finance standards
- Prior experience in healthcare organizations
- Analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills
- Business consulting experience to provide best practice solutions and advice to Finance, Supply Chain and other clients
- Experience supporting Workday update releases, including testing and validating outcomes
- Experience transforming and preparing data (extractions, parsing, joining, standardizing, augmenting, cleansing, consolidating, filtering)
- Experience contributing to Functional Design Documents, Business Requirement Documents, Interface Designs, test scenarios/plans, GUI and Screen Design
