About the role

  • Formulates and defines system scope and objectives based on user needs
  • Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results
  • Prepares detailed specifications from which programs will be written
  • Analyzes and revises existing system logic difficulties and documentation as necessary
  • Provides advanced support for definition/refinement of business requirements and for quality assurance/acceptance testing efforts
  • Designs, develops, tests and debugs software components of moderate to high complexity
  • Provides implementation, production and upgrade support for software components of moderate to high complexity
  • Acts as supporting liaison between the application team and the user community, facilitating communications, coordinating system enhancements, and providing production support
  • Works with user community to define business requirements in sufficient detail and define business use cases
  • Manages the development of user and technical documentation according to department standards

Requirements

  • Bachelor s degree in related technical/business area plus 4 years of IT or business experience
  • 6 years of additional experience can be substituted in lieu of degree
  • Deep expertise in system analysis, problem-solving, and technical design
  • Experience defining scope, optimizing procedures, preparing detailed specifications, and resolving complex logic issues
  • Competent to work at the highest technical level of all phases of applications systems analysis activities
  • Experience with Workday (implied by role title)
  • Ability to provide advanced support for definition/refinement of business requirements and for quality assurance/acceptance testing
  • Ability to design, develop, test and debug software components of moderate to high complexity
  • Ability to provide implementation, production and upgrade support for software components of moderate to high complexity
  • Strong communication skills to act as liaison between application team and user community
  • Experience managing development of user and technical documentation according to department standards
