About the role
- Accurately reviewing medical records and assigning ICD-10 and CPT codes in compliance with all applicable policies and regulations
- Managing patient demographics, clinical documentation, and billing data across practice management systems and hospital records to ensure proper coding and reimbursement
- Supporting and educating clinical staff and providers on documentation and coding standards to promote compliance, accuracy, and effective communication
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge preferred
- Accredited by the American Health Information Management Association (CCS-P) or the American Academy of Professional Coders (CPC)
- Newly obtained coding certification to three years experience in provider coding and medical terminology with extensive knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPC coding required
- Preferred specialty experience in areas of Orthopedics, Neurology, Physical Medicine, and Rehabilitation or Pain Management
