About the role

  • Oversee the engineering and programming teams, ensuring successful execution of New Product Introduction (NPI) initiatives while maintaining margin adherence.
  • Responsible for cost estimation, manufacturing process development, CNC programming, fixture building and continuous improvement to optimize production efficiency and product quality.
  • Analyze engineering drawings, BOMs, technical data, and quote requests to identify strategic business opportunities.
  • Head the technical NPI process to ensure that new parts are delivered to the shop floor on time and meet company standards.
  • Collaborate with engineers and programmers to develop optimized manufacturing processes and CNC programs.
  • Assist in fixture design development to improve manufacturing efficiency.
  • Maintain the engineering and programming sections with the capacity, load, and resource allocation.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for process-related concerns.
  • Support quality inspectors by providing guidance on customer specifications and requirements.
  • Make recommendations for manufacturing process enhancements to optimize quality and cost-effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the machining industry.
  • At least five years of experience in a management role.
  • Completion of a two-year college or technical school program required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead and collaborate effectively.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and engineering documentation.
  • Proficiency in Windows-based systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficiency in CAD software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong business acumen, with the ability to analyze, prioritize, and execute solutions strategically.
  • Highly organized, with exceptional time management skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the machining industry, including an understanding of customer-specific process specifications (ASTM, SAE, ISO, MIL-Standards).
