About the role

  • The Opportunity: We are seeking a senior level computational biology / bioinformatics scientist with background in diagnostic test development and a focus on NGS and ideally epigenomic modalities. This role is responsible for the data analysis and development aspects of clinical diagnostic testdevelopment for a novel blood-based epigenomic platform, as well as analysis relating to the development of the platform itself. This is a unique opportunity for someone passionate about pushing the boundaries of diagnostic testing, building novel diagnostic tests and methods for assay characterization and optimization, and ultimately improving data interpretation to create better predictors and diagnostics. If you're excited about joining an early-stage company with an experienced team operating at a rapid pace, and applying a novel platform for clinical diagnostics testing, this could be your perfect match. About Us: We are pioneering an advanced, minimally invasive, comprehensive epigenomics platform with the potential to profoundly impact the research and development of new medicines and the use of approved medicines in clinical practice across a number of conditions, including cancer. More information on our company and platform can be found on our company website and in our recent publication in Nature Medicine. We care deeply about creating a place where folks can do their best work from the start and have intentionally created an environment that is defined by purpose, teamwork, and excellence. This means nurturing team spirit, facing challenges together, collaboratively solving complex problems, while also ensuring a strong focus on individual initiative, accountability, and delivery.

Requirements

  • PhD or MSc in bioinformatics, computational biology or related field 5+ years experience industry experience, within multidisciplinary R&D group. Management experience is desirable. You have experience developing a prototype NGS-based diagnostic from a research tool to a clinically validated and approved diagnostic test. Experience in development within a regulated environment (CLIA, FDA) is a plus. You have an in-depth understanding of the analyses that enable a given regulatory path for a liquid biopsy diagnostic test. You have spent large parts of your career thinking deeply about high throughput data; how to test its limits and enable better understanding through enhanced characterization of data, with a desired emphasis on NGS data. You have experience in using computational analyses to understand complex data sets. You are comfortable presenting your findings in a group setting and advocating for your strategy with leadership. You are excited by challenging problems and a fast-paced work environment. You thrive in startup culture, comfortable taking on new projects with minimal direction, and are adaptive in response to feedback and evolving information. You are proficient in either R (Bioconductor) or Python. You value diversity, learning from various perspectives, and working collaboratively on multidisciplinary teams.
