About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Build and evolve backend services and APIs as your primary focus
Design, implement, and operate REST APIs and services in Python
Build durable data models and data access using PostgreSQL (or comparable RDBMS)
Improve reliability and operability through logging, metrics, tracing, and robust error handling
Deliver and maintain WebApp features by building UI functionality using React (hooks)
Implement consistent UI with HTML/CSS and Tailwind CSS
Integrate APIs and handle routing/state patterns as needed (Redux is a plus, not required)
Ship and maintain cloud infrastructure using AWS CDK (TypeScript or Python)
Work with AWS serverless services (e.g., API Gateway, Lambda) and deployment pipelines
Contribute to CI/CD and DevOps practices to ship safely and often

Requirements

What you’ll need

7–10+ years of building production software
Strong backend experience with Python and REST API design
Strong SQL experience with PostgreSQL preferred (or another RDBMS), including schema design and query performance tuning
Strong frontend experience with React (hooks) and modern JavaScript tooling
Strong experience with HTML/CSS and Tailwind CSS
AWS CDK Infrastructure-as-Code experience (required)
Experience with CI/CD, modern DevOps practices, and testing (unit/integration/e2e) using tools such as Pytest, Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress (or equivalents)
