About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the overall reliability, maintenance, and performance of all plant assets, utilities, facilities, and maintenance personnel.
Provide leadership for maintenance, reliability, capital projects, utilities, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Hire, train, and manage maintenance staff to maintain the plant functions.
Develop plans to improve plant performance with the cooperation of the plant management team.
Ensure sanitation, safety, GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices) and quality policies and procedures are followed.
Counsel and discipline employees as appropriate.
Participate as a member of the plant safety committee.
Establish and maintain departmental budget within established guidelines.
Evaluate and prepare expense authorizations for projects and present to Plant Manager for submittal.
Establish and implement preventative maintenance system.
Identify appropriate vendor network.
Assist Safety Manager with accident investigations as requested.
Communicate and respond to issues raised by Quality Assurance Manager.
Coordinate equipment availability request with Plant Manager for maintenance functions.
Interface with plant management staff on daily operational issues.

Requirements

What you’ll need

5-7 years of experience in maintenance management or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must possess solid analytical skills and mechanical aptitude.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations under stress.
Computer literacy applied to control and data management.
Strong interpersonal skills requiring the ability to resolve conflicting interests and obtain cooperation.
Must be able to communicate verbally, understand, and write in the English language.
