About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and implement strategies for assigned procurement categories
- Reduce organizational expenditure and improve savings opportunities
- Enhance relationships with business partners and suppliers
- Negotiate value-driven agreements and drive supplier performance
- Lead major projects, including RFPs, supplier selection, implementation planning, and policy compliance
- Manage the USCA Chemical Distribution category
- Provide strategic direction for regional distribution procurement strategy
- Prepare annual category plans aligned with regional requirements
- Develop regional strategic sourcing projects for critical categories
- Identify and implement cost reduction and cost avoidance opportunities
- Research and understand industry trends at regional and global levels
- Work with Functional teams and Local Buyers to assess, bid, optimize, and implement projects
- Develop and communicate leadership updates on critical suppliers, upcoming projects, and business needs
- Collaborate with Strategic Business Units, Functional Teams, and Procurement partners to understand requirements and resolve issues
- Analyze spend and submit RFIs, RFPs, and Reverse Auctions using purchasing electronic tools
- Evaluate supplier performance and implement performance management for critical suppliers
- Ensure ethical, professional, and policy-compliant procurement practices
- Foster world-class purchasing practices compliant with PPG’s Global Procurement Policies
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, or Operations
- Strong analytical skills
- Proficiency in establishing contracts, monitoring performance, and issue resolution
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to influence and collaborate with diverse teams
- Proven track record of process improvement and project management
- U.S. Citizens, Green Card holders, and political asylees or refugees are eligible to apply
