About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Plan, optimize, and tender PPG freight through Oracle Transportation Management (OTM)
  • Execute transportation planning activities for multiple USCA departments, including standard freight, returns, emergency/rescue shipments, and expedited freight
  • Tender and manage ground transportation shipments
  • Maintain relationships with carriers, 3PLs, and OTR transportation partners
  • Manage transportation events caused by order changes, production schedule adjustments, and operational disruptions
  • Drive routing guide compliance using preferred and low-cost carriers while maintaining service levels and on-time delivery
  • Investigate and resolve freight rating and billing discrepancies with carriers and the PPG Freight Payment Audit team
  • Maintain transportation performance metrics, reporting, incident tracking, and operational analyses
  • Provide strategic and economic analysis for transportation sourcing, carrier negotiations, and network design decisions
  • Report to the Transportation Planning Manager

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Finance, Economics, or a related field required
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in outbound logistics operations, transportation, shipping, or warehousing
  • Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS)
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment
  • Oracle Transportation Management (OTM) experience preferred
  • Availability Monday through Friday, 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM EDT
  • On-call responsibilities approximately one weekend every one to two months
