Subject matter expert for environmental regulatory matters and support environmental compliance programs at designated PPG sites primarily in the Ohio-East region, but could include other locations within the United States and Canada.
Oversee and ensure 100% compliance is met for all environmental regulatory standards (state and federal), permits, best practices, and other guidelines for the region.
Ensure PPG's task management system is utilized and appropriately updated to ensure that all required environmental tasks are assigned and completed.
Ensure all required environmental documents and reports are completed accurately and submitted per regulatory or PPG requirements.
Prepare the PPG sites for potential government agency inspections and managing any follow-up.
Develop procedures, training, and mentorship to assure implementation of environmental requirements.
Manage follow-up and closure of environmental findings from agency and internal compliance audits.
Identify emerging environmental issues at the federal, state and local levels.
Ensure that all site environmental plans such as SWPPP, RMP, RCRA contingency, and SPCC meet regulatory and are being implemented by the facility.
Ensure all waste contractors being used by sites align with PPG's global waste stewardship program.
Ensure the appropriate review for environmental impacts for capital projects.
Assess the applicability of new environmental regulations at sites within the position's region and assist in implementation of procedures and programs to ensure compliance.
Participate as a member of the US and Canada environmental committee to develop standard tools, templates, training, procedures and to share standard methodologies.
Assess overall compliance performance and implement actions to address areas of concern.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Health, and Safety field; Chemical Engineering or related science.
7+ years of relevant experience.
Familiarity with Clean Air Act (CAA) Title V Operating Permits, Maximum Achievable Control Technology (MACT) rules, New Source Review, and/or Minor Source permits compliance; including emissions reporting and compliance documentation; Clean Water Act (CWA), CWA Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) plan inspections and management, SARA Tier II/TRI Reporting.
Familiarity with Resource Recovery and Conservation Act (RCRA) and state-level Waste Management Program (Hazardous, Non-Hazardous, Universal) for both Large and Small Quantity Generator(s), along with developing and maintaining emergency response and contingency plans.
Ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of management and staff personnel.
Digital literacy with environmental compliance management system and Microsoft Suite.
Travel up to 35% is required.
Alternative hybrid PPG office locations may be considered based on candidate location.
