About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Process bi-weekly payroll
  • Process status changes and RBT certifications
  • Process payroll reimbursement requests
  • Manage payroll taxes, registrations, and state notices with the Controller
  • Complete monthly new hire ACA measurements and year-end payroll items
  • Administer benefits enrollment, status changes, and terminations in Enroll 365 and Employee Navigator
  • Monitor Employee Navigator tasks and follow-ups
  • Send benefits notices to new hires
  • Review benefit invoices and resolve issues with vendors
  • Answer and escalate employee benefits questions
  • Manage Awardco budgets and upload monthly recognition points
  • Support benefits compliance and new initiatives
  • Administer and track leaves of absence
  • Communicate with employees and leadership about leave status and return-to-work timelines
  • Conduct licensing audits and maintain employee records
  • Process wage garnishments and state requests
  • Manage background-check renewals, DACS submissions, and roster maintenance
  • Track CPR certifications and professional liability insurance follow-ups
  • Process employment verifications and census requests
  • Support government reporting, EEO reporting, and workers' compensation processes
  • Monitor compliance and legal updates, escalating issues to the HR Director or COO
  • Process termination checklists
  • Support attendance reviews, performance reviews, compensation statements, accommodations, unemployment claims, and new-hire tasks
  • Contribute to HR projects and initiatives
  • Support handbook and policy updates with the HR Director
  • Report to the HR Director

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 2+ years of experience in an HR generalist or HR coordinator role
  • Experience with Paycom or similar HRIS platform strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with benefits administration platforms (Enroll 365, Employee Navigator, or similar)
  • Working knowledge of federal and state employment law and compliance requirements
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working in a remote environment
  • Healthcare or ABA industry experience a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification a plus
  • Reliable internet and telephone connectivity while working remotely
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to frequently use a computer, keyboard, mouse, and telephone for prolonged periods
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, over the phone, and through electronic communication
  • Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and retrieve files or office materials as needed
  • Ability to maintain sustained concentration and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to maintain a safe, distraction-free remote workspace
