About the role
- Support the embedding and ongoing operation of the firm’s compliance and risk framework.
- Assist in monitoring regulatory developments and assessing their impact on the firm’s policies.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop, update, and maintain policies and procedures.
- Provide proactive business support by identifying, assessing, and escalating professional and regulatory risks.
- Design and deliver training sessions, workshops, and practice updates to ensure compliance.
- Review routine legal and client-facing documents to ensure compliance with regulatory, professional, and internal requirements.
Requirements
- Qualified solicitor in England & Wales, or equivalent relevant legal qualification.
- Strong understanding of SRA regulation, professional conduct, and law firm risk management.
- Experience in a practice support, compliance, risk, or knowledge role within a law firm (or relevant in-house/legal services environment).
- Ability to interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into practical business solutions.
- Experience designing and delivering training to legal professionals.
- Strong drafting, analytical, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence and collaborate at all levels.
- Pragmatic and commercially aware approach to compliance and risk.
- Proactive, organised, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Collaborative mindset with strong stakeholder management skills.
- Comfortable working independently while contributing to a wider team.
