About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Become the architectural backbone of the animation department
Work closely with the creative team to solve complex problems and streamline daily workflows
Take a proactive lead in developing new features, processes, and pipelines
Specify and write custom tools, establish studio-wide best practices for skinning and rigging
Implement animations directly into the game engine
Build and manage character pipelines for character-heavy projects
Ensure rigs are optimised for performance without sacrificing visual fidelity
Help bridge the gap between artistic vision and technical execution

Requirements

What you’ll need

Proven ability to build and deploy sophisticated character pipelines from scratch
In-depth understanding of animation principles
Mastery of rigging and animation systems in software like Maya and MotionBuilder
Proficient in Python, MEL, and Qt for tool creation
Experience in C# and Unity Editor scripting
Veteran of Motion Capture processes
Comfortable navigating source control environments like Perforce
Refined eye for anatomy and character topology
Ability to create and modify rigs for various styles ranging from hyper-realistic to stylised and cartoony
Creative problem solver who thrives on integrating cutting-edge techniques
