About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Drive a fully outfitted PIRTEK mobile service van across the greater NYC area
Respond to on-site breakdowns, routinely on an emergency basis
Diagnose, replace, and install hydraulic and industrial hoses
Work on marine equipment, tugboats, shipyards, construction equipment, and industrial machinery
Perform machine servicing and cylinder repair
Participate in the on-call rotation, including nights and weekends
Communicate with customers, explain problems, and describe required repairs
Keep the truck, tools, and paperwork organized and ready for service calls
Help a small business owner grow their local business
Provide fast hydraulic and industrial hose maintenance and replacement services through mobile and retail service centers

Requirements

What you’ll need

Comfortable working with your hands and figuring things out
Able to work independently and hustle without close supervision
Able to remain calm when customers are stressed and machines are down
Good communication skills
Respect for safety and operating processes
Mechanically inclined; experience with cars, boats, heavy equipment, or machines is helpful but not required
Comfortable with dirt, grease, tight spaces, and standing for extended periods
Valid driver’s license
Able to pass a background check and drug check
Able to work nights and weekends
Legally authorized to work in the US
Specific hose experience is not required; hands-on training is provided
