About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Administer the Testing of Adult Basic Education (TABE) test following standardized testing parameters
- Perform administrative duties for the Community & Workforce Development One-Stop Training Team
- Communicate with clients in person or by phone regarding training department services
- Participate in day-to-day operational and support activities of a specialized program or work unit
- Provide direct services to clients by phone, email, online, or in person
- Collaborate with agencies and organizations to maximize resources and services
- Assess community members’ needs and guide them to appropriate resources
- Match qualified candidates with employment, education, or financial-assistance resources, coaching, or support
- Represent the program at community events and meetings with County personnel or community partners
- Provide administrative support for program objectives, including mentoring and leading staff and volunteers
- Provide input to management on program goals and objectives
- Manage and maintain accurate participant records and progress
- Perform other duties supporting the department and Pima County
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate degree from an accredited college, university, or technical school in management, public or business administration, or a related field, and one year of professional experience in health, customer service, human services, or a closely related field
- OR one year of experience with Pima County as a Community and Workforce Specialist I or similar Pima County position
- Relevant experience and/or education from an accredited college or university may be substituted
- Minimum one year of experience working with job seekers in person and over the phone (preferred)
- Minimum six months of experience with data entry and spreadsheet software such as Excel (preferred)
- Experience with or knowledge of classroom management, emphasizing standardized testing (preferred)
- Bilingual Spanish/English (preferred)
- Ability to work independently and make quick decisions
- Familiarity with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
- Problem-solving and organizational skills
- Effective client communication skills
- Valid driver license required at application; valid Arizona driver license required at appointment
- Must pass required fingerprint clearance, criminal history self-disclosure, Central Registry, and pre-employment background checks
- Subject to a 39-month DOT Motor Vehicle Record review
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle, distinguish colors, have depth perception, and peripheral vision
