About the role

  • Design and develop electro-mechanical assemblies, cable assemblies, electronics enclosures, and components based on system requirements.
  • Create 3D CAD models and detailed 2D drawings using software such as Solidworks Electrical, AutoCAD, and Draftsight.
  • Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers to ensure cohesive system design and integration.
  • Produce wiring diagrams, schematics, and cable assemblies in compliance with industry standards.
  • Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of product development processes.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing to ensure designs are feasible, cost-effective, and meet production requirements.
  • Maintain accurate design documentation, BOMs (Bills of Materials), and revision control.
  • Support prototyping, testing, and validation of designs through the development lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Experience working with Electrical Engineers to document electrical designs in Solidworks Electrical and AutoCAD.
  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • Associate's degree in Electromechanical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electro-mechanical product design.
  • Proficiency in 2D drawing creation (cable drawings, schematics, and related documentation).
  • Experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Familiarity with PDM/PLM systems for data management.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary groups driving schedule and task.
  • Confidence and experience to move quickly and make informed decisions.
  • Detailed-oriented with a commitment to quality and accuracy.
  • Follow 5S and lean manufacturing principles and practices in an ISO 9001 manufacturing environment.
