About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide online clinical services to youth and young adults affected by mental health and substance use concerns
- Assess clients and determine referral needs
- Provide online individual counselling, group and family interventions, education, and follow-up support
- Formulate and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
- Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments online or by phone
- Provide brief intervention, crisis intervention, psychotherapy, family work, education, and support
- Apply trauma-informed and culturally safe care principles
- Develop care options and facilitate access to community services and rehabilitative programs
- Provide referrals to community treatment agencies and services
- Deliver, develop, and coordinate online group interventions
- Maintain clinical records and data in accordance with established standards and legislation
- Participate in committees, case conferences, practice evaluation, and quality improvement
- Develop psychoeducational resources and coordinate seminars
- Collaborate on staff and physician education and training related to mental health and addiction
- Teach and supervise student interns as assigned
- Participate in professional development and the ongoing development and evaluation of Foundry Virtual Care services
- Report to the Clinical Coordinator, Virtual Clinic Services
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master's Degree in a relevant health-related discipline such as Social Work, Clinical Counselling, or Clinical Psychology from an accredited university
- Two (2) years' recent, related experience working with youth and young adults across the mental health and substance use continuum
- Experience with interventions and evidence-based treatment modalities, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Eligible for registration with an affiliated professional body
- Knowledge of adolescent and young adult mental health and substance use issues, psychiatric diagnosis, and evidence-based treatment practices
- Knowledge of community response procedures, counselling principles, intervention techniques, and Systems Theory
- Knowledge of relevant Acts, regulations, policies, procedures, and statutory duties
- Ability to conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments using standardized mental health and substance use frameworks and tools
- Crisis intervention skills with adolescents and families
- Therapeutic skills in individual, group, and family interventions
- Ability to create and maintain trusting relationships with youth and families
- Ability to work independently and as part of an interprofessional team in a multicultural environment
- Proficiency with personal computers, online service delivery, word-processing software, and database-management applications
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
- Ability to apply trauma-informed and culturally safe care principles

- Salary range of CAD $44.85–$56.02 per hour
