About the role

  • Senior Liferay Developer leading design, development, and maintenance of scalable Liferay-based web portals.
  • Deliver secure, high-performance, and user-friendly solutions on the Liferay Digital Experience Platform (DXP).
  • Develop and maintain custom portlets, themes, hooks, and OSGi modules using Liferay best practices.
  • Customize and extend Liferay platform features to meet business needs.
  • Integrate Liferay with external systems (REST APIs, LDAP, SSO, third-party tools).
  • Collaborate with architects and designers to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Monitor and optimize portal performance, security, and scalability.
  • Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers.
  • Participate in sprint planning, technical discussions, and agile ceremonies.
  • Support deployment and configuration across Dev, QA, and Prod environments.
  • Stay up to date with the latest Liferay features, tools, and industry trends.

Requirements

  • Strong background in Java/J2EE, with deep hands-on experience in Liferay DXP (7.x+), OSGi architecture, and web portal development.
  • Solid knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, and modern frameworks like React or Angular; proven experience with RESTful/SOAP APIs, database technologies, and application servers.
  • A solution-driven approach with the ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues independently.
  • Clear communicator who works well in a team environment and can bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Enthusiasm for staying current with Liferay releases, Java ecosystem advancements, and digital experience trends.
  • Liferay Developer Certification (bonus)
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) or DevOps tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins) (bonus)
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development (bonus)
