About the role
- Senior Liferay Developer leading design, development, and maintenance of scalable Liferay-based web portals.
- Deliver secure, high-performance, and user-friendly solutions on the Liferay Digital Experience Platform (DXP).
- Develop and maintain custom portlets, themes, hooks, and OSGi modules using Liferay best practices.
- Customize and extend Liferay platform features to meet business needs.
- Integrate Liferay with external systems (REST APIs, LDAP, SSO, third-party tools).
- Collaborate with architects and designers to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Monitor and optimize portal performance, security, and scalability.
- Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers.
- Participate in sprint planning, technical discussions, and agile ceremonies.
- Support deployment and configuration across Dev, QA, and Prod environments.
- Stay up to date with the latest Liferay features, tools, and industry trends.
Requirements
- Strong background in Java/J2EE, with deep hands-on experience in Liferay DXP (7.x+), OSGi architecture, and web portal development.
- Solid knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, and modern frameworks like React or Angular; proven experience with RESTful/SOAP APIs, database technologies, and application servers.
- A solution-driven approach with the ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues independently.
- Clear communicator who works well in a team environment and can bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Enthusiasm for staying current with Liferay releases, Java ecosystem advancements, and digital experience trends.
- Liferay Developer Certification (bonus)
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) or DevOps tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins) (bonus)
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development (bonus)
