About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Accurately drill drive drill patterns using a mechanised electric/Hydraulic Jumbo drill
Assess ground conditions at the face and implement ground control according to site requirements
Communicate with surveyors, geologists and engineers as required
Optimise drill patterns to ensure maximum advance per round is achieved
Ensure work area is safe for personnel and equipment

Requirements

What you’ll need

Strong background in underground hard rock mining (essential)
5 years minimum experience as a Jumbo Operator
Experience operating the Sandvik DD22i Drills or similar
Strong commitment to safety and teamwork
Ability to work in remote, international environments
Experience in Africa or other developing regions highly regarded
Ability to adapt to rostered expatriate lifestyle
Proven experience training personnel to a high standard
Cultural awareness and sensitivity
