About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications and microservices using Node.js.
- Build secure, high-performance APIs and integrations for fintech and payment-related systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver new features and enhancements.
- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and event-driven services.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following industry best practices.
- Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to technical design decisions.
- Optimize application performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in collaboration with SRE and support teams.
- Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Participate in code reviews, mentoring, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
- Support agile development processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of professional software development experience.
- 4+ years of hands-on experience developing applications with Node.js.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript.
- Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
- Strong understanding of asynchronous programming and event-driven systems.
- Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server.
- Experience working with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, DynamoDB, or Redis.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience with Docker and containerized application development.
- Knowledge of CI/CD practices and modern software delivery pipelines.
- Experience with Git and collaborative development workflows.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in distributed teams.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Must be located in the APAC region and available to work during Canadian overnight hours.
