About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Maintain generators, diagnose and repair problems, install and replace components or entire systems, and perform maintenance or upgrades
Conduct performance checks and regular maintenance on generators
Read and follow blueprints and design specifications for installations and repairs
Install fuel and water supply lines, pumps, electrical wiring and controls, and other components
Test equipment for proper operation
Respond promptly to power/generator alarms and assigned phone and email requests
Perform work safely around installation and maintenance hazards
Use safety equipment and follow safety practices
Attend designated safety and training meetings
Service and repair commercial generators on cell phone towers in the assigned region

Requirements

What you’ll need

Minimum one year of intense work-related experience with generator and electrical maintenance-related software, hardware, and processes
Two or more years of generator maintenance experience preferred
Thorough knowledge of generator installation, maintenance, and repair
Knowledge of electronic, mechanical, and electrical components
Moderate computer skills
Basic knowledge of pertinent FCC, FAA, EPA, and OSHA regulations
Ability to comply with OSHA Standards
Ability to lift over 50 pounds, stoop, bend, kneel, squat, climb, and stand for long periods
Ability to inspect and troubleshoot equipment and alarms visually and audibly
Willingness and ability to drive long distances and work day, evening, or night hours
Ability to work overtime, emergency callouts, weekends, and holidays as required
Ability to assume 24-hour on-call duty when assigned
Ability to be away from home for extended periods
Must be able to pass a DOT physical
