About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Maintain generators, diagnose and repair problems, install and replace components or entire systems, and perform maintenance or upgrades
  • Conduct performance checks and regular maintenance on generators
  • Read and follow blueprints and design specifications for installations and repairs
  • Install fuel and water supply lines, pumps, electrical wiring and controls, and other components
  • Test equipment for proper operation
  • Respond promptly to power/generator alarms and assigned phone and email requests
  • Perform work safely around installation and maintenance hazards
  • Use safety equipment and follow safety practices
  • Attend designated safety and training meetings
  • Service and repair commercial generators on cell phone towers in the assigned region

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum one year of intense work-related experience with generator and electrical maintenance-related software, hardware, and processes
  • Two or more years of generator maintenance experience preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of generator installation, maintenance, and repair
  • Knowledge of electronic, mechanical, and electrical components
  • Moderate computer skills
  • Basic knowledge of pertinent FCC, FAA, EPA, and OSHA regulations
  • Ability to comply with OSHA Standards
  • Ability to lift over 50 pounds, stoop, bend, kneel, squat, climb, and stand for long periods
  • Ability to inspect and troubleshoot equipment and alarms visually and audibly
  • Willingness and ability to drive long distances and work day, evening, or night hours
  • Ability to work overtime, emergency callouts, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Ability to assume 24-hour on-call duty when assigned
  • Ability to be away from home for extended periods
  • Must be able to pass a DOT physical
