About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Create new process platforms and resolve project-related issues using defined processes
- Work on multiple programs and projects concurrently
- Interface with customers, vendors, and company employees to complete business requirements
- Engineer and create installation requirements and documentation according to Telco Standard TP76300 (AT&T)
- Engineer Central Office DC Power and Battery Systems, Data Centers and Cloud equipment, fiber systems, Remote Terminals, infrastructure, and Supervisory/Alarm Systems
- Perform or coordinate onsite site surveys at customer locations
- Interpret network diagrams and site survey information to determine equipment placement, installation parts, cable types and connections, and power equipment needs
- Create detailed engineering plans, documents, and drawings for transport/access networks and co-locations
- Research manufacturer documentation to ensure correct equipment ordering and explain installation procedures
- Maintain understanding of company policies, safety procedures, paperwork, and administrative requirements
- Comply with system update requirements for company/customer installation documents
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum 10+ years of Telecom DC Power, Infrastructure, and Central Office Detail Engineering experience, or combination of experience and training determined by the company
- High school diploma with four years of technical school, or 10+ years of related communications Detail Engineering training and experience
- Experience with AT&T systems such as EJF, VIPS, AOTs, and Inventory Systems is a plus
- Ability to create instructions from written, oral, or diagram forms and solve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Ability to work alone or with a team
- Excellent computer skills and Microsoft 360 experience, including diagnostic computer programs
- Ability to travel in the home region and throughout the US without restrictions for site surveys or meetings
- International travel ability is a plus
- Estimated travel requirement of 10%–25%
- Full understanding of company/customer policies, procedures, and safety requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and crawl in tight spaces during site surveys
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to pass pre-employment background checks
- Must be insurable
- Valid passport is a plus
