About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Troubleshoot and repair utility-scale solar systems, including inverters, combiner boxes, and string circuits
- Perform LOTO, IV curve tracing, megger/insulation testing, and IR scans
- Lead and direct field technicians on active solar farm sites
- Assign work, track progress, and keep jobs on schedule
- Perform operations and maintenance on utility-scale solar plants
- Inspect completed work for quality and safety compliance
- Enforce OSHA and NFPA 70E safety requirements on-site
- Diagnose system issues and resolve them in the field
- Complete work orders, service logs, and required documentation
- Operate and maintain the company vehicle and tools
- Train and support junior technicians in the field
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3+ years of utility-scale solar experience on solar farms or ground-mount systems
- Experience leading crews or acting as lead technician on-site
- Experience working on megawatt-scale PV systems, not residential rooftop solar
- Strong electrical troubleshooting and repair skills involving inverters, DC systems, and power electronics
- Experience with solar operations and maintenance work
- Working knowledge of OSHA and NFPA 70E safety standards
- Experience using multimeters, meggers, amp clamps, and testing equipment
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office
- Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs
- Willingness and ability to travel 100% to solar farm sites
- Ability to work outdoors in heat, cold, wind, dust, and other weather conditions
- Must follow all OSHA and company safety requirements
