About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and repairs on UPS systems, battery plants, DC power systems, PDUs, STS units, inverters, and related critical power equipment
Diagnose electrical and control system faults using schematics, test equipment, manufacturer documentation, and industry best practices
Install, commission, and replace UPS systems, battery strings, battery monitoring systems, maintenance bypass equipment, and associated power infrastructure
Respond to emergency service calls and restore customer systems to operational status
Perform battery testing, capacity testing, failure analysis, and lifecycle replacement services
Complete service reports, maintenance documentation, and customer communications
Develop strong customer relationships through technical expertise and service delivery
Mentor junior technicians and support field training
Maintain compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, company safety procedures, and customer site requirements
Support additional field service activities as business and customer needs evolve

Requirements

What you’ll need

Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience servicing UPS systems, battery systems, DC power equipment, generators, switchgear, data center infrastructure, or other mission-critical electrical infrastructure
Experience with Eaton, Vertiv/Liebert, Schneider Electric/APC, Mitsubishi, Toshiba, ABB, or comparable critical power platforms strongly preferred
Strong understanding of AC and DC electrical theory, power distribution systems, and battery technologies
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
Experience using multimeters, power quality analyzers, battery testing equipment, and other diagnostic tools
Ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical and electronic system failures
Strong customer-facing communication skills
Proven commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and professional accountability
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
Willingness to travel within the assigned service territory, including overnight and multi-day travel
Ability to pass required pre-employment drug screening and background check, where applicable
Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or move equipment weighing up to 100 pounds
Ability to work in confined or restricted-access areas and around energized electrical equipment
Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation
Ability to obtain and maintain Security Clearance Access to customer facilities
Compliance with OSHA, DOT, NFPA 70E, customer site requirements, and company safety policies
