About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Inspect underground, buried, and aerial plant facilities to verify compliance with client standards and regulations
  • Perform audits, inspections, and pole transfers
  • Document inspection findings electronically or manually using printed spreadsheets
  • Use mapping/GPS technology to locate and verify plant infrastructure
  • Communicate with client and vendor management by email and cellular phone
  • Interface with construction crews, vendors, and client stakeholders
  • Travel to field sites as needed, including some overnight stays
  • Maintain records of inspections, audits, and corrective actions
  • Identify issues and guide corrective actions to support project success, network reliability, safe construction, and timely completion

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Previous experience performing NESC inspections or working on an aerial cable line crew
  • Experience conducting wooden pole ground line inspections
  • Proficiency in OSP Construction Standards
  • Working knowledge of the National Electric Safety Code (NESC)
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office products
  • Familiarity with Microsoft MapPoint preferred, but not required
  • Comfortable using the internet and web-based applications
  • Strong communication, organization, and time management skills
  • Experience managing construction contractors in the field
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Flexibility to travel on short notice
  • Must reside within one hour of Butte or the surrounding area
