About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Wind Turbine Traveling Technicians (Composite Repair) specialize in conducting inspection and corrective repair of composite Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) components
  • Evaluate, inspect, diagnose and document internal and external composite blade damage, then photograph and assemble documentation as required
  • Perform coating and structural repairs of internal and external composite blade structures
  • Modify and repair fiberglass, carbon fiber, resin and other composite materials as needed
  • Work with site leadership to execute all contractual obligations and activities set forth with the customers daily
  • Complete and maintain required company and client documentation and records
  • Perform Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) as required to maintain a safe working environment

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum 2 year of experience working with composite materials in any industry
  • Familiar with internal and external adhesive bonding
  • Understanding of mixed ratios for all composite repair chemicals
  • Basic knowledge of repairing leading edge (LE) and trailing edge (TE) cracks
  • WDI/TWP/Work instruction
  • Work within confined space areas, such as inside a wind turbine blade
  • Read and understand electrical schematic drawings
  • Must be proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English to safely perform job duties, interpret technical instructions, and communicate effectively with team members and customers
