About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead OSP engineering tasks for road move and highway widening projects, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal requirements
  • Coordinate with DOT, municipalities, utilities, and contractors to align relocation plans with road construction schedules
  • Perform field surveys, site walks, and impact assessments on aerial, buried, and underground infrastructure
  • Develop engineering designs, construction packages, and relocation plans for fiber/copper cable, pole transfers, conduit adjustments, and related facilities
  • Provide cost estimates, materials lists, and project timelines
  • Serve as the primary engineering contact during planning, permitting, and construction phases
  • Maintain accurate documentation: as-builts, CAD drawings, GIS updates, and permit packages
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Construction, Planning, and Permitting teams
  • Ensure compliance with RUS, NESC, and company design standards

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3–5+ years OSP Engineering experience, ideally with roadway relocation or utility coordination projects
  • Strong knowledge of OSP design (aerial & underground), construction methods, and permitting
  • Experience working with state DOTs, municipalities, and 3rd-party contractors
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, GIS, Microsoft Office, and OSP design software
  • Excellent project management, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in field environments and manage multiple priorities
  • Flexible, adaptable, and able to respond to changing project demands
  • Strong listening skills with the ability to follow directions and apply feedback effectively
  • May assist with training and onboarding new team members
