About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead installation, setup, and configuration of advanced systems such as machine vision tunnels, RFID systems, conveyors, and robotics
- Provide expert guidance on installation best practices, system calibration, and troubleshooting
- Mentor and train junior technicians and customer teams on system operation and maintenance
- Act as the primary technical contact during installations, ensuring clear communication and exceptional customer service
- Conduct site assessments to verify infrastructure readiness (power, networking, environmental conditions)
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues during and after installation
- Perform preventive maintenance and create detailed service reports
- Develop and maintain installation guides, wiring diagrams, and calibration reports
- Ensure compliance with safety standards (Lockout-Tagout, Hazmat, Industrial Safety)
- Travel extensively (75–100%) to customer sites across the U.S., including overnight stays
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate degree in Engineering, Electronics, or related field (bachelor's preferred) OR 7+ years of equivalent experience
- 5+ years in field service or installation roles, with advanced experience in:
- Machine vision systems (Cognex, Keyence, Basler, Matrox, Teledyne/FLIR)
- PLC integration (Allen Bradley, Siemens)
- Electrical and mechanical system installation and troubleshooting
- Knowledge of IP networking and industrial communication protocols
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and create technical documentation
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows-based applications
- Valid driver’s license and ability to qualify for company credit card
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in physically demanding environments
