About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and cultivate new small business relationships and provide loans, deposits, and ancillary services to existing and prospective members
- Coordinate community initiatives supporting the organization’s strategic direction and small business goals
- Offer small business products and provide product feedback
- Grow business membership with branch staff, lending teams, business development officers, and marketing
- Build a portfolio of small business loans and deposits
- Monitor industry knowledge, competitive offerings, innovative products, and assigned-market changes
- Develop and maintain strategies for managing business member relationships and anticipating needs
- Compile and present monthly and quarterly sales and activity reports to the Small Business Program Manager
- Maintain loan, deposit, and other small business program goals
- Identify and market to commercial deposit and small business lending prospects through networking and community involvement
- Liaise with branches and the Small Business Program Manager on sales, mentorship, and employee training
- Meet monthly with branch staff, members, and prospects and help plan business development activities and events
- Assist with loan presentations to credit underwriting, including prescreening requests for lending-policy alignment
- Partner with internal financial teams and refer inquiries to appropriate departments while ensuring seamless member transitions
- Perform other assigned duties
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of two years’ experience in business development, sales, and/or banking
- Ability to conduct business development activities
- Ability to meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals
- Demonstrated experience in consumer and small business lending
- Demonstrated experience working for a financial institution or similar organization
- Excellent written and verbal communication and exceptional client service skills
- Knowledge of client retention, pipeline building, and market growth
- Ability to partner with branch teams, departments, and business partners to achieve goals
- Availability Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM
- Occasional evening and weekend availability for community events, business development, and member outreach
- Ability to work in branch space, corporate office, and at business meetings; remote work requires manager approval
- Must meet United States employment eligibility requirements verified through E-Verify
