About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Guide the technical direction of commerce experiences in the Venmo iOS app
- Work closely with product designers, Android engineers, and backend engineers
- Help several feature squads deliver fast, reliable, and accessible experiences
- Influence patterns, tooling, and quality across mobile
- Act as a project or system leader and coordinate engineers
- Determine technical tasks for other engineers
- Proactively improve existing structures and processes
- Identify optimal solutions across competing priorities
- Generalize recurring patterns into meaningful solutions
- Collaborate with management to set and improve engineering rigor standards
- Represent PayPal to partners, customers, or industry organizations
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years relevant experience
- Bachelor’s degree OR any equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience guiding technical direction for iOS commerce experiences
- Ability to coordinate other engineers and determine their technical tasks
- Ability to reconcile competing priorities involving time, quality, complexity, and risk
- Ability to improve structures and processes
- Ability to establish and improve engineering rigor standards
- Ability to represent PayPal to partners, customers, or industry organizations
