About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Deliver complete solutions spanning all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle
Advise management on project-level issues
Guide junior engineers and operate with little supervision
Design and build intelligent AI-powered systems enhancing Venmo Cloud Infrastructure and DevOps productivity, reliability, and velocity
Manage infrastructure operations, automation, security, compliance, and release engineering
Oversee CI/CD infrastructure and develop smart, secure pipelines
Implement self-service secret management systems, development environments, microservices scaffolding, and testing frameworks
Build and maintain tools, automation, and services powering Venmo’s AWS cloud infrastructure
Participate in on-call rotations, troubleshoot incidents, and escalate as appropriate
Write automation scripts and infrastructure-as-code
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, scalable solutions

Requirements

What you’ll need

1+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR any equivalent combination of education and experience
Bachelor’s in computer science or related field of study
1+ years’ experience in software development or a related field
Some experience with cloud platforms, AWS preferred, or container technologies
Programming and scripting experience with Python, Bash, Go, or similar
Exposure to containers and container orchestration, including Docker and Kubernetes
Strong communication skills and eagerness to learn
